Overview
The client booked a function room at a major stadium in VIC to run two events at the same time in the one room. Half the space hosted a safety and environmental exhibition, while the other half held a lunch with guest speakers and music.
The Challenge
With both events running at once, noise had to be kept from travelling between them. Without a divide, microphones and music from the lunch would carry into the exhibition, making it hard for exhibitors to talk directly with potential customers at their booths. Noise from the exhibition floor would also spill back into the speaker sessions.
Solution
Control Hire installed its patented Noise Control Wall as an acoustic divide across the room. The panels absorb sound energy, with a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.85 and a Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) of 27 dB.
The wall reduced noise travelling between the two events, so exhibitors could talk with visitors at their booths while the lunch program ran next door.
