As part of the redevelopment works at Biloela Hospital in Central Queensland, strict noise mitigation was required to protect staff, patients and surrounding residents during construction activities. Control Hire QLD was engaged to deliver a rapid and effective solution that ensured uninterrupted operations at the healthcare facility while maintaining compliance with environmental and acoustic guidelines.
The Solution
Following a detailed site assessment and consultation with project stakeholders, Control Hire’s in-house acoustic and structural engineering consultants recommended the installation of a high-performance temporary noise barrier. The proposed solution was designed to absorb and deflect construction noise generated from plant and machinery while also ensuring quick installation with minimal disruption to hospital operations.
Control Hire deployed its premium modular Noise Control Wall to the site. Engineered for maximum absorption and built from environmentally responsible materials, the wall provided immediate acoustic benefits. The structure met site-specific noise criteria as well as wind loading safety requirements, and allowed construction works to proceed adjacent to active hospital buildings.
