OverView:
Toshiba approached Control Hire in preparation for a shutdown at a NSW Power Station. During the planned works, demountable office and crib buildings were adjacent to a large, loud operating turbine.
The Challenge:
Having the crib building and demountable office so close to the turbine was impacting the staff inside – the noise was loud and disruptive and potentially harmful. Control Hire and Toshiba joined forces to ensure the best fix for both the office workers and the turbine maintenance crew.
The Solution:
Within ONE day of arrival, a strategically placed 50-metre-long and 3-metre-high Noise Control Wall was assembled along the occupied demountables, as well as extra panels at key sound entry points such as windows.
The Noise Control Wall is the highest performing temporary noise attenuation solution, trapping and dissipating sound waves, protecting both the inside and outside workers.
Onsite measurements had the Noise Control Wall solution reducing the noise levels by an unheard of 12 decibels approximately.
