Overview:

Quickway Constructions approached Control Hire during the tender period of Sydney Water’s developing Advanced Water Recycling Centre to assist in the design, installation and hire of a noise attenuation wall required to be 3m in height to attenuate the sound of a Horizontal Directional Drill.

The Challenge:

With a concerned residential community next door to this major infrastructure project, Control Hire had to provide an engineered solution complying with the Australian Standards to provide the highest noise reduction rating possible to maximize noise absorption at a height of 3m and a length of 205m in a site specific layout – creating the entire project compound. This involved unlevel ground, sharp corners and curves that all needed required attention to detail.

The Solution:

The Noise Control Wall has the highest Noise Reduction Co-efficient (NRC) rating in the temporary noise attenuation market with the ability to be designed and engineered to any height or length or shape. Our Australian-made and manufactured solution was delivered, raised and completed within days to enable the immediate start of this critical activity.
